KEREN MACHANIK B.A. (HONS) L.L.B. [RHODES]
Keren is the principal attorney at Machanik Attorneys. An admitted attorney to the High Court of South Africa (Cape), Keren has over ten (10) years’ experience in employment law, general litigation and commercial litigation in the High Court, Labour Court, Regional Court and Magistrates Court.
Keren completed her B.A. (Honours) L.L.B. at Rhodes University in 1992 and various corporate positions followed. These included consulting to ACCORD (University of Durban-Westville), Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Manager for andBeyond (previously CCAfrica) and Human Resources Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa at Halliburton (Kellogg Brown & Root, Johannesburg) before completing her articles at Du Toit MacDonald Inc, Johannesburg.
Keren commenced practising for her own account in Johannesburg in 2003, then relocated to Cape Town in 2007 to join Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs Inc. (ENS). Keren was appointed to the employment law department and then to the commercial litigation department at ENS, where she practised for six years until 2013.
Keren commenced practicing for her own account as Machanik Attorneys in late 2013 and offers a range of legal services listed on our Home Page.
Keren has trained and lectured on a number of corporate governance and industrial relations topics and has also published articles and chapters in the Labour Law for Managers Practical Handbook, Business Law & Tax Review and Child Magazine.
Keren also enjoyed part-time lecturing and acting as external examiner at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) for the Industrial Relations course offered to students in the Engineering Department.
